{"id":4,"date":"2009-08-29T15:22:43","date_gmt":"2009-08-29T15:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/simplelifecorp.com\/simplelifeblog\/?p=4"},"modified":"2010-10-08T12:45:56","modified_gmt":"2010-10-08T16:45:56","slug":"french-press-coffee-maker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/simplelifecorp.com\/simplelifeblog\/2009\/08\/french-press-coffee-maker\/","title":{"rendered":"Morning Coffee with a French Press Coffee Maker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Posted by Patti Tokar<\/p>\n<p>Here is a quick look at the French press coffeemaker that I use for the morning coffee.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s a simple process to make the coffee, although it is quite different from a regular drip coffee maker.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5\" title=\"French Press Coffee Maker\" src=\"http:\/\/simplelifecorp.com\/simplelifeblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/French-Press-Coffee-Maker-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"French Press Coffeemaker\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/simplelifecorp.com\/simplelifeblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/French-Press-Coffee-Maker-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/simplelifecorp.com\/simplelifeblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/French-Press-Coffee-Maker.jpg 648w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>the process is actually quite easy.\u00a0 First, heat the water in the kettle until it just starts to whistle.\u00a0 Meanwhile,\u00a0 measure the ground coffee into the empty glass chamber of the French press pot.\u00a0 The hot, whistling water is then carefully added to the glass chamber.\u00a0 Now put the cap\/lid on the pot with the steel filter pulled all the way up into the cap.\u00a0 \u00a0 Set your watch or timer timer for 5 &#8211; 10 minutes (10 minutes for making the coffee good and STRONG.\u00a0 The instructions manual suggests brewing for 5 minutes. )\u00a0 When the timer goes off, very slowly push the spring lid down until the steel filter is pressed to the bottom of the glass pot with the coffee grounds pressed flat underneath. The steel filter with the grounds underneath stays in place and is not removed until the glass pot is empty and ready for cleaning. The top part of the lid must be turned to the opening that allows the coffee to pour.
